Havelock

Havelock is the second most populous city in Craven County, located between Historic New Bern and the beautiful beaches of the Crystal Coast.

Havelock is home to "Cherry Point", it's one of the country's largest Marine Corps Air Stations occupying nearly 16000 acres. Havelock welcomed the United States Marines in 1940.  A bi-annual event, looked forward to by many, is the largest military air show in the Carolinas featuring the Blue Angels....An exciting show you definitely want to see!

In addition to Cherry Point, it also features an Aviation Museum and a 9/11 Memorial Plaza. Havelock also has an annual Chili Festival , a 2 day event with a variety of cook offs.

The roar of jets overhead (or the rumble of helicopters) is affectionately known as "the sound of freedom"
